It's really unfortunate, but what's in that cartoon is the truth. The humor is for people who don't have to go through that flow-chart or the people who get out quick.

We recently assisted a client from Johannesburg, South Africa, regarding an H-1B specialty occupation visa. He was approved for an H-1B visa, but in order for our client to enter the United States, he must obtain an H-1B visa in his passport. Because the chances of visa issuance vary greatly depending on documentation and individual circumstances, we suggested that he go to the interview at the U.S. consulate very well prepared. We told him to take a certified copy of his entire H-1B package that was filed with the Immigration Service, along with his Form I-797 Approval Notice. We also suggested that he take original birth certificates, marriage certificate, and proof of financial support. He attended the interview this morning and his experience at the U.S. consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa was documented as follows.
“My wife, myself and our son had our interview at the U.S. Consulate here in Johannesburg this morning, at 9:00am. We duly arrived at 8:30am, had our relevant DS documents checked at the door, took a number, and waited for the “call.” At promptly 9:00am we were called to a booth, where our fingerprints were taken, the DS forms checked with the original I-797 form, and then told to go and sit down again. 10 minutes later, we went back to the booth, had our fingerprints taken again, and that was it. All visas approved, and to pay DHL the delivery costs. No questions asked, no documents asked for, no requirement of proof of copies of documents, nothing. All in all a painless and easy task.”

I have a question. I am on H1 and are planning to extend my H1 along with my wife H4. My question is, we both have EAD's and I never use EAD. My wife is looking for jobs on EAD. If she works on EAD, can she still able to extend H4 status?

Hello Friends :
I recd. an email from my attorney this evening stating that "We have mailed you the FOIA request for your and your spouse's signature."
This doesnt make any sense to me, as to what does FOIA mean to start with. So I emailed them back asking, what does it mean and is it something to do like RFE towards my AOS papers filed on 2nd July,2007 (no checks cashed yet, no info in system yet).
My Attorney replied back stating that - "We have filed for full copies of your petitions to be sent to us. The FOIA will allow us to obtain a copy to check the integrity of the filing for our records. Looks like, it will be several years before these I-485 petitions are actually reviewed by the Service unless we see a change in the law. ."
What does this all mean? I am so confused....

BS + 2-5 years of experience
I have
Bachelors 4 Years
Masters in USA
Research Assistant 1 year 8 months
Teaching Assistant 11 months
Experience as a Mechanical engineer 3 years 8 months
Am I eligible for eb2 category? Help greatly appreciated.

I came in US on 5-Jun-2006 on L2 visa & then changed status to H4 after 6 months & then applied for H1 & started working & now I'm on H1 & now I want to go back to H4. I never left the US during these change of status from L2 --> H4 --> H1
The Part 3 of form I-539 is asking below questions:
1. I/We request that my/our current or requested status be extended until***** (mm/dd/yyyy): __________
Here, actually, I'm applying for change of status & not extension. Should I write N/A or the I-94 expiry date of my spouse's H1 petition?
2. Is this application based on an extension or change of status already granted to your spouse, child, or parent?
Here, should I say Yes or No??
3. Is this application based on a separate petition or application to give your spouse,*child, or parent an extension or change of status?
Here, should I say Yes or No?

I was in a similar situation as you and had to use this firm. H1B filing experience was fine but the entire GC process and filing was not a good experience at all. There were days I had to call the paralegal and teach him the new immigration laws and that's never a good sign ! Because of their mistake I was stuck in Eb3 rather being in Eb2. May be they will deal differently with your case but have a chat with them and your company managers before you agree to use them. I m with another company and another attorney firm and they are awesome !

Can someone tell me how to get to the button battery that runs the date/clock on a D70? I've had three cameras with the problem of having to reset the date because the clock battery was low and the screen flashes 0 on the frame counter, the camera is virtually disabled. We have had these cameras since the fall of 2004 and they all crashed within a week of each other. I read in the book that the clock battery feeds off of the battery pack, or can be charged up (three days) with the optional ac adapter.
Also we had a problem with dust on the circuitry, dark spots showing up on images, and I had to send it to Nikon. If I need to clean that again in the future, I don't want to fry the circuitry, so any advice about that is greatly welcomed. Thank you

Contact a good attorney asap. Your details would most probably raise anyone's eyebrows at USCIS/DOS/ICE. Also, a lot depends on exact dates when you entered/left US and when your different applications were rcvd by respective govt egencies as these details will help you to establish that you are not in violation of any US laws. Oi! That IS the colour version! :D It might be a tad underexposed I guess, but any more and I would've ended up with bright white water. I could go back at a different time of day when the sun is at a more opportune spot though. I'm just not sure if it's worth it. (I guess one way of finding out is to actually go down there when the sun pops out :))
I think I'm better off hunting for more traditional landscapes (and eventually some animals -- I hope to catch some musk oxen in July, dunno what I'll do before that). :)
